The LARCH at the KLEMENČA JAMA

Among all the larches in the Solčava District this one, which is protected as natural heritage, is the most prominent. It grows a couple of minutes' walk above the mountain lodge at the Klemenča jama next to the path that leads to the summit of Krofička. This two to three hundred-year-old tree has a trunk circumference of about 4.5 metres and grows to some 28 metres in height. Due to its outstanding dimensions it has been declared a natural heritage.
