There is an exhibition about the discovering of the secrets in
Potočka zijalka
cave at the Firšt Inn which is located
only a few kilometers before Logarska dolina. The exhibition shows some
of the excavations made at Potočka zijalka and
about the life of the ice-age hunters - the Kromanions. The remains of their
tools, campfires and bones witness about the life 30 thousand years ago.
'The unusual bone, which at the dim light of the carbide light could
not be attributed neither to the cave bear nor to the marmot or any known
animal, was carefully wrapped up. I remembered it only at noon, when we
had lunch in front of the cave. I took it in my hands and washed it. The
moment I took it out of the dirty water and it glittered in the sunlight,
I stepped on the way of the discovery which shook the scientific Europe.'
' It must be a man made item', I cried out, ' an ice-age men used to live
in this cave.' These are the memoires of dr. Srečko Brodar, the iniciatior
