Koča na Klemenči jami mountain hut

The hut on Klemenča jama is situated on the edge of Klemenškova planina pasture below the northern wall of Ojstrica. Due to the basin-like shape of the pasture, the locals call it Klemenča jama (‘jama’ in Slovene means ‘cave’). The original mountain hut was adapted by Solčava mountaineers from a shepherd's hut.

From the hut there is a view of the mountains that surround the Logar valley. To the east, the slopes of Krofička rise above the Klemenškova planina pasture, while to the south are the steep walls of Ojstrica and Planjava. To the west is the vast Okrešelj cirque with the walls of Skuta, Rinka and Mrzla gora. From west to north, a mountain ridge runs between the Logar valley and the Matkov kot valley, while to the north the western part of Olševa can be seen.

Near the hut is a larch boasting an enormous circumference of 464cm. It is the largest in Slovenia, and has been growing for several centuries.

• Access is from the parking area at the Dom planincev mountain hut in the Logar valley from where it is a one hour walk
